Biodiversity survey

The site boasts a diverse ecosystem, recording a total of 36 bird species during the nesting season (typically 18 to 28 annually), highlighted by the notable return of two pairs each of the Red-backed Shrike and European Stonechat in 2024 after a two-year absence. Additionally, the local flora comprises 10 planted shrub species and 31 herbaceous species that were either sown or grew naturally. The area also supports various other wildlife, serving as a habitat for the grass snake and seven mammal species, including the wildcat and beaver.
